Summary:
Plan, direct, and coordinate all efforts at the facility to achieve overall cost reduction, capacity increase, and customer satisfaction.
The Production Manager has responsibility for all operations within facility including safety, health, environmental, quality, production, analytical, distribution, material management, and maintenance performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
The Production Manager coordinates efforts among production personnel to improve the functioning of the organization.
Specific responsibilities include:
o Assist in preparing the facility budget and manage expenditures to ensure costs are adequately controlled.
o Recruit and train as needed to ensure adequate levels of staffing exist.
o Reinforce and correct of employee performance.
Conduct appraisals and recommend personnel for promotion.
o Develop and maintain positive employee relations.
o Operate plant to meet Airgas safety, health, environmental, and quality policy.
Implement programs to achieve targeted goals.
o Develop procedures and provide training to meet regulatory and company requirements.
o Implement and evaluate projects to improve efficiency and productivity.
o Facilitate team activities and nurture project completion.
o Conduct periodic reviews of facility performance against stated objectives.
o Conduct orientation for new hires.
o Ensure completion of all reporting and recordkeeping requirements.
o Monitor employee compliance with safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements o Ensuring compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:
2005 o Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:
2000.
o Continuously review the Airgas Specialty Gas Quality System and improve on the implementation at the Stryker facility.
o Ensure Compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) o Review and provide input into safety operating procedures.
o Manage changes to the facility, equipment, processes, and procedures.
o Evaluate, assign responsibility and monitor actions against recommendations arising from compliance audits.
o Order Raw Materials when required.
Qualifications:

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
o Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in accounting, finance, marketing or related field or five years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of experience and/or training and education.
Military background is desirable TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
o Occasionally (1-33% of work time); o Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
o Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Supervises direct reports in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Major accountabilities include interviewing, hiring, training associates, planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:
o Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
o Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence in English.
o Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and/or customers.
o Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals using the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
o Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent's.
