Cylinder Prep Technician - Stryker, OH

Summary:
Sorts cylinders according to cylinder size and service, scrapes and paints cylinders, maintains organization in the cylinder yard, moves cylinders by forklift between the Hydrocarbon plant and the Pure Gas plant.
Inspects and prepares high and low pressure cylinders for the filling process, performs required maintenance on cylinders.
Load and unload common carrier trucks and Airgas shuttle trucks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
o Performs all job assignments in a safe manner according to Airgas SOPs.
o Sorts and evaluates incoming cylinders according to Airgas SOPs.
o Moves cylinders to designated areas o Loads and unloads common carriers and Airgas shuttles.
o Performs daily forklift inspections and reports any deviations in service condition to management.
o Maintains the cylinder yard in a clean and orderly manner.
Stores cylinders in designated locations by service, cylinder size and valve type.
o Performs valve and cylinder inventory o Inspects cylinders for defects using the Airgas pre-fill inspection per Airgas SOPs.
o Installs new cylinder valves in both low and high pressure cylinders according to Airgas SOPs o Operates vacuum pumps, cylinder driers, cylinder bake out system and high pressure manifolds o Scrapes labels and paints cylinders per Airgas SOPs.
o Maintains prepped cylinder inventory, allocates cylinders to customer orders, prepares cylinders for shipment as assigned.
o Performs daily maintenance inspections on equipment and reports any deviations in service condition to management.
o Keep a clean and orderly work area o Other job duties as may be assigned.

EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
o High school diploma or equivalent o Must be able to demonstrate competency in all areas listed above.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
o Must have reliable, appropriate transportation.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
o Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook) COMMUNICATION and/or CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS:
o Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, safety data sheets and procedure manuals using the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
o Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
